Avalonia Cats Release Notes

The Avalonia Cats rewrite (V2) is still in development and the versions that are available should be regarded as Alpha releases. These release notes will provide some basic guidance regarding functionality and known bugs/issues.

Avalonia101Cats is currently being shipped as a 64 bit executable. I'm trying to minimise the number of versions I have to ship and I'm assuming that everyone is running a 64 bit version of Windows these days. I don't think there is any reason why it can't be built as 32 bit - if anyone really wants it, ask me and I'll try. Currently, I'm only shipping Windows versions. I have run an experimental build for Linux and it does appear to work - at some point in the future, I will offer a Linux evaluation version.

One of the reasons for the rewrite was the fact that I wanted to implement reasonably complex theming for the user interface and the Mahapps toolkit that I used in V1 was not very good at theming. Avalonia is a lot more sophisticated and you have quite a lot of control over theming already. It is driven from a file called "Theme.csv" which exists in the subdirectory "G8FXC\101Cats" within your Documents directory. This is very much a work in progress. The format should remain fixed now, but the content will change many times. Note that these are overrides for the default colour scheme, it is not necessary to provide values for every colour. The following is the contents of my local theme file:

Id,Value,Description "WBackgroundColor","DarkSlateGray","Window Background" "CBBackgroundColor","Cyan","Combobox Background" "CBForegroundColor","Red","Combobox Foreground" "BBackgroundColor","#ffa0a0a0","Button Background" "BForegroundColor","Black","Button Foreground" "LabForegroundColour","Yellow","Label Foreground" "HCCForegroundColor","Beige","Headered Control Foreground" "TGLSForegroundColor","Yellow","Toggleswitch Foreground" "RBForegroundColor","Cyan","Radio Button Foreground" "CheckBoxForegroundChecked","Yellow","Checkbox Foreground" "CheckBoxForegroundUnchecked","Yellow","Checkbox Foreground Unchecked" "ComboBoxDropDownGlyphForeground","Red","Combobox Dropdown Glyph Foreground" "MeterPanelColor","Beige","Meter Panel" "TBlockForegroundColor","Black","Text Block Foreground" "CheckBoxForegroundCheckedPointerOver","Cyan","Checkbox Foreground Mouse Over" "TextControlButtonBackgroundPointerOver","Yellow","Text Control Button Background Pointer Over" "TextBoxBackgroundThemeBrush","Pink","Text Box Background Colour"

V2.0.0.5 fixes a couple of bugs reported by Rick (I2BRT). These are the failure to action the TX/A and TX/B radio buttons and the non-functionality of the interface to third-party applications. Both are now implemented, but lightly tested.
